A week long fieldwork in Umeå mapping wetlands with Drones

It feels good to be out on the field and spend some time in the nature. It was intense but rewarding experience. Went on a UAV survey after two years and I badly missed those days. Though the environment in which I flown now is completely different from what I was used to.

Flying in dense forests, near wetlands brings its own set of challenges compared to flying near coasts or islands like I used to do in my previous job back in India.

Now I needed more planning, more skills and more patience given the weather conditions and landscape conditions are not always favorable for a flight mission. Its my first time flying a UAV with multi-spectral payload, which I am very much looking forward to process and see how the results come. And i learned a lot about wetlands, different species especially the Sphagnum from the passionate researchers. These people really love nature and are so knowledgeable!!
